Just a week after Donald Trump’s vision of plonking a hotel, housing estate and 2 golf courses on the northeast coast of Scotland was rejected by Aberdeenshire council, the SNP-led government “called in” the planning application.
Like his predecessor Jack McConnell, First Minister Alex Salmond is keen to facilitate Trump’s monstrosity. He was there when Trump was first wooing Scottish politicians. And just two days before his government over-ruled the council’s decision, the former socialist was being wined and dined by Trump. But a parliamentary inquiry could yet derail these attempts to enforce Trump’s plans by decree.
